I visited Kampala and neighboring regions of Uganda with family around Christmas and New Year 2007. Having never stepped food in Africa before, the experience was immensly eye-opening and an opportunity to expand my comfort zone. My dad was working as project manager in Lagos at the time and received an invitation to manage a client engagement in Uganda and bringing the family over for a couple of days. We spent time around Kampala as well as outside the city at safaris and natural reserves. The absolute highlight was whitewater rafting near Bujagali Falls and literally floating down the Nile.
